Old Armenian[edit]
Etymology[edit]
The origin is uncertain. Perhaps from *բուլուր (*bulur), from *բուլ (*bul) (compare dialectal բուլ (bul)), from Proto-Indo-European *bʰōl-, from *bʰel- (“to blow, grow, swell”), + -ուր (-ur), and cognate with Welsh bâl (“peak, summit”), Icelandic bali (“grassy bank”).[1][2] See also բոլոր (bolor).
