רַעַשׁ • (rá'ash) m (plural indefinite רְעָשִׁים, plural construct רַעֲשֵׁי־) [pattern: קֶטֶל]
- A noise, noisiness.
- Commotion, ado, hype.
- An earthquake
- Tanach, Ezekiel 38:19, with translation of the New International Version:
- וּבְקִנְאָתִי בְאֵשׁ־עֶבְרָתִי דִּבַּרְתִּי אִם־לֹא בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא יִהְיֶה רַעַשׁ גָּדוֹל עַל אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל.
- uvəqin'atí uvəésh-'evratí dibbartí im-lo bayóm hahú yihyé rá'ash gadól 'al admát israél.
- In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.
