أَحْيَا (ʔaḥyā) IV, non-past يُحْيِي‎ (yuḥyī)

  1. (transitive) to give life to, to vivify, to quicken, to vitalize; to bring to life, to animate

      كَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَكُنتُمْ أَمْوَاتًا فَأَحْيَاكُمْ ۖ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
      How do you disbelieve in Allah when He animated you when were inanimate and [when it is He who] shall disanimate you then reanimate you and to Him, you shall be returned?

      أَحْيَا الْفَلَّاحُ الْأَرْضَ
      ʔaḥyā al-fallāḥu l-ʔarḍa
      The farmer cultivated the land.

        It is of His signs that He shows you thunder for you to fear and to seek. And He brings down from the sky water to vivify the earth after its lifelessness. Verily, these are signs for thinking men.
