Etymology[edit]

From the root ص غ ر (ṣ-ḡ-r). From Proto-Semitic *ṣaɣir-. Cognate with Biblical Hebrew צָעַר (ṣāʿar, to be small, insignificant) and Akkadian 𒌉.
