Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Turkic *yit-.[1][2] Cognates Turkish yitmek. Also, *yit- is derived to other Turkic languages. *yit-ig is descending in Azerbaijani iti, Southern Altai јидӱ (ǰidü), Karaim jiti, Khalaj yittig, etc.
