Inherited from Prakrit 𑀓𑀁𑀧𑀇 (kaṃpaï), itself from Sanskrit कम्पते (kámpatē). Compare Urdu کان٘پنا (kāṉpnā) / Hindi काँपना (kā̃pnā).
