From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (kwndl /⁠kundur⁠/, frankincense). Compare the Iranian borrowings: Old Armenian կնդրուկ (kndruk), Old Georgian გუნდრუკი (gundruḳi), Udi куьнддуьрукӏ (künddüruḳ), Aramaic [script needed] (qndrwg), Sanskrit कुन्दुर (kundura), कुन्दुरुक (kunduruka).
