From Akkadian 𒄑𒄢𒁍 (GIŠGUL.BU /dulbu/). Also found as Jewish Palestinian Aramaic, Jewish Literary Aramaic, Jewish Babylonian Aramaic דּוּלְבָא (dulbā), Hebrew דֹּלֶב (dṓleḇ), Arabic دُلْب (dulb), Persian دلب (dolb).
