- thus, like so, as such, like that, in this way, in this manner
- ܠܹܐ ܗܲܡܙܸܡܲܚ ܗܵܕܟ݂ܵܐ ܠܟܸܣ ܐ݇ܢܵܫܹ̈ܐ.
- lē hamzimmaḥ hādḵā l-kis nāšē.
- We don't talk like that in front of people.

- In many dialects it can be used as a one-word non-reply (like English because) to questions (including one-word questions) starting with ܩܵܡܘܿܕܝܼ (qāmōdī, “why”).
