From ܙܠܡܐ (z(ə)lāmā(ʾ), “crooked writing”), from the root ܙ-ܠ-ܡ (z-l-m) related to crookedness + ܦܫܝܩܐ (p(ə)šīqā(ʾ), “easy”).
