Etymology[edit]
From Aramaic חַמִּימָא (ḥamīmā); compare Arabic حَمِيم (ḥamīm) and Hebrew חַם (kham).

Usage notes[edit]
To express feeling the sensation of heat, possessive pronouns are added to ܚܸܡܵܐ (ḥimmā), e.g ܚܸܡܝܼ ܝܠܹܗ (ḥimī ìlēh, “I am hot”, literally “he (it) is my heat”).
