Assyrian Neo-Aramaic[edit]

ܛ ܡ ܡ (ṭ m m)

  • (Nineveh Plains) IPA(key): [t͡ʃˤaːjɪm]

ܟ̰ܵܐܸܡ (čāˀim) (present participle ܟ̰ܝܵܡܵܐ (čyāmā), past participle ܟ̰ܝܼܡܵܐ (čīmā))

  1. (transitive, intransitive) to close, shut (also of the eyes)
  2. (offensive) to shut up, stop talking, be quiet
