From Aramaic רֲאָא (răˀā) with a shift from /ʔ/ to /h/, from Proto-Semitic [Term?]; cognate with Classical Syriac ܪܗܵܐ (To lie in wait for, watch carefully), Arabic رَأَى (raʔā, to see), Hebrew רָאָה (ra'á, to see) and Ge'ez ርእየ (rəʾyä).
