Inherited from Prakrit 𑀯𑀟𑁆𑀠𑀇 (vaḍḍhaï), from Sanskrit वर्धकि (vardhaki). Cognate to Sinhalese වඩුවා (waḍuwā). Doublet of ވަޑާން (vaḍān̊)
