Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘣𑘳𑘎𑘘 (phukaṭa), 𑘣𑘳𑘎 (phuka), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀨𑀼𑀓𑁆𑀓𑀸 (phukkā). Compare Gujarati ફોગટ (phogaṭ), Hindi फोकट (phokaṭ).
