Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘥𑘨𑘪𑘭𑘰 (bharavasā), 𑘥𑘨𑘽𑘪𑘭𑘰 (bharaṃvasā), 𑘥𑘨𑘿𑘪𑘭𑘰 (bharvasā), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *bʰarawaśyas. Compare Hindi भरोसा (bharosā), Punjabi ਭਰੋਸਾ (bharosā), Dhivehi ބަރޯސާ (barōsā).
