From Magadhi Prakrit *𑀪𑀡𑁆𑀟𑀸𑀭 (*bhaṇḍāra), from Sanskrit ভাণ্ডাগাৰ (bhāṇḍāgāra, treasury).

      নৃপতি বোলন্ত ঋষি মোৰ বোল কৰা ।
      সমস্ত ভণ্ডাৰ দিলো নিয়া যত পাৰা ॥
      nṛpoti bölonto ṛṣi möro bölo kora ,
      somosto bhoṇḍaro dilö niya joto para .
      The king says, O sage, do what I say,
      I give you all the treasury, take as much as you can.
