Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Sanskrit সৰু (saru, “fine, thin”). Cognate with Sylheti ꠢꠥꠞꠥ (huru, “small, little”), Hajong হুৰু (huru), Bishnupriya Manipuri হুরু (huru), Bengali সরু (śoru, “thin, slender, narrow”), Odia ସରୁ (sôru, “thin”).
