Inherited from Prakrit 𑀚𑀡𑁆𑀡𑀸 (jaṇṇā), from Sanskrit जन्य (jánya). Doublet of જન (jan). Cognate with Sindhi ڄَڃَ (ǰaña) and Punjabi جنج (jaṉj) / ਜੰਞ (jãñ).
