Etymology[edit]
From Khmer កញ្ឆា (kɑñchaa, “the narcotic plant Cannabis indica or Cannabis sativa”), ultimately from Western Cham kačha; or from Sanskrit गञ्जा (gañjā, “hemp”). Compare Malay ganja.
