Etymology[edit]
Borrowed from Pali asurakāya (literally “body of asuras; assemblage of asuras”), from asura (“asura”) + kāya (“body”); equivalent to Thai อสุร + กาย (gaai). Cognate with Khmer អសុរកាយ (ʼɑɑsokaay).
