Translingual[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Created by Denis Moskowitz from the "five-fingered hand" symbol of the goddess Eris, a symbol found in modern Discordianism. Moskowitz rotated the hand symbol upright like the related Discordian POEE symbol , and added a cross-bar, Э, so that it would resemble a double lunate letter epsilon, the initial letter of 'Eris'. However, the Discordian community objected that this produced a "seven-fingered hand," and in response he removed the cross-bar.[1]

Symbol[edit]

  1. (astronomy, astrology) The dwarf planet Eris.
