Etymology[edit]
Appears to be a coinage within Japanese, as a compound of 痴 (chi, “stupid; mad”) + 女 (jo, “woman”). First cited to 1900.[1]
Likely created by analogy with 痴漢 (chikan, “stupid man”), with the senses for both terms developing similarly towards a more sexual nature.
Pronunciation[edit]
Noun[edit]
- [from 1900] (possibly archaic) a stupid woman
- [from 1900] female libertine
- [from ???] slut, whore
- Synonym: やりまん (yariman)
- [from ???] (pornography) JAV theme where the actress depicts a sexually promiscuous character
