Etymology[edit]
Calque of Literary Chinese 刻骨銘心 (kègǔmíngxīn). Literally "carved on one's bones and set in one's liver."
Idiom[edit]
骨に刻み、肝に銘ずる • (hone ni kizami, kimo ni meizuru)
- To have one's resolve carved on the forehead.
