Gothic[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From πΏππ°π- (ufar-) + πΌπΉπππ½ (mitΕn), but the interpretation and reading of this word, which occurs only once, is disputed. Another interpretation is that this in fact represents two words, the preposition πΏππ°π (ufar) and the (accusative singular of the) noun πΌπΉπππ½π (mitΕns), yielding a meaning of "above the intention"; cf. Lehmann (1986).
