Carthaginian compound name containing the elements 𐤇𐤍𐤉 (ḥny /⁠ḥannī⁠/, may he grace me) +‎ 𐤁𐤏𐤋 (bʿl /⁠baʿl⁠/, lord), literally "May the Lord (Baal) grace me." The first element is akin to Biblical Hebrew חַנָּה (ḥannā, grace).
