Inherited from Sanskrit 𑀓𑁆𑀯𑀣𑀺𑀢 (kvathita, “boiled”). Compare Maharastri Prakrit 𑀓𑀠𑀺𑀅 (kaḍhia), Prakrit 𑀓𑀠𑀺𑀆 (kaḍhiā, “kadhi”), Pali kaṭhita.
