Etymology[edit]

Formed in Armenian as -ով (-ov) +‎ (-kʻ). Alternatively, inherited from Proto-Indo-European instrumental plural ending of athematic stems *-bʰis and cognate with Sanskrit -भिस् (-bhis), Old Irish dative plural -ib.

Suffix[edit]

-ովք (-ovkʻ)

  1. the plural instrumental case ending of o-stem nouns
    գայլովքgaylovkʻinstrumental plural of գայլ (gayl)
