Etymology[edit]
From Hebrew אָחָז (acház, “owns”), a contraction of יְהוֹאָחָז (yeho'acház, “Jah has held”). Attested to in Akkadian as 𒅀𒌑𒄩𒍣 (Iaúḥazi).
