Apachette (plural Apachettes)

  1. (archaic, humorous) A female Apache.
    • 1926, The Judge, volume 90, number 2330, page 20:
      If there are any Apaches left they would do well to take lessons from Douglas Gilmore, known in the picture as The Cat; and their Apachettes from Joan Crawford, who plays the part of The Cat's ill-used but excessively loyal sweetheart.
