Etymology[edit]

ba (three) +‎ (place, seat, throne), the later element is now mostly used as a classifier. The name refers collectively to the three largest peaks of the mountain range: Vua Mountain, Tản Mountain and Ngọc Hoa Mountain.

This is the tên Nôm. The tên chữ is Tản Viên (傘圓).
