Inconsistency of /s/[edit]

About the consonant /s/, I see some sources use different glyphs as followings:

  • This source (2017) is well said to use . It is used everywhere for /s/.
  • This source (2020) is said to use . It is also used everywhere for /s/. But it is a draft.
  • This source (2016) is said both of them are used, even in the same text. (p.4 pic 2) (I suspect that 2017 is wrong.)
  • This Unicode note contains both of them for Khamti. is cha and is sa. (p.46)

As Khamti does not natively have /cʰ/ sound, so ꩢ is probably used for writing loanwords and transcriptions. I will use ꩬ for general /s/. --Octahedron80 (talk) 07:08, 27 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
