Here is a good example of Polish in the old language...

рѫка - in old church slavonic ręka - in Polish.

Means "hand"

It's the exact same spelling and sound. One is in latin and the other in OldChurchSlavonic. What is peculiar about this word is that all the other languages have a different way of pronouncing and spelling this word. But this word mysteriously matches todays contemporary Polish pronunciation.

ѫ - is the western recension ę sound in Polish. It's use is evidenced in the Kiev Folia.
