Since its inception, this category has been used for (as the category description currently words it) "terms related to the transgender community in its broadest sense (by which it is synonymous with genderqueer): terms relating to transitioning from female to male or vice versa, but also terms relating to crossdressing, third genders, androgyny, and/or intersex." However, there has been occasional consideration that it might be useful to make a new category to move the genderqueer terms into, so that this category could be refocussed to use the narrow sense of "transgender". - -sche (discuss) 15:00, 15 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Followup: Category:en:Crossdressing and Category:en:Intersex have been split off. The subsumation of intersex (a biological condition that exists independent of social ideas about gender) into this category was particularly egregious. - -sche (discuss) 09:56, 7 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
