Etymology[edit]
First attested as tremele in 893. Perhaps derived from Proto-Germanic *þrum- (“piece of land, terminus”) with -l suffix or from a compound of *þrum- and lo (“light forest”). Compare Drimmelen, Drempt and Drumpt.
