Named after an English chemist, Thomas Fowler (1736–1801). First mentioned in 1786.

Fowler's solution (uncountable)

  1. (chemistry, historical) An aqueous solution (containing arsenite and potassium), containing 1% arsenic trioxide. It was historically used in treatment of leukemia, but has since been discredited.
