Etymology[edit]
Borrowed from Spanish Génesis, from Latin Genesis, a borrowing of Ancient Greek γένεσις (génesis, “creation, beginning, origin”), to translate Biblical Hebrew בְּרֵאשִׁית (b'reishít).
