Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from German Herrnhuter. So called from the settlement of Herrnhut (= the Lord's watch) made, about 1722, by the Moravians at the invitation of Nicholas Lewis, count of Zinzendorf, upon his estate in the circle of Bautzen.
