Borrowed from Spanish Jerusalén, from Old Spanish Iherusalem, from Late Latin Ierūsalēm, Hierūsalēm, from Ancient Greek Ἰερουσαλήμ (Ierousalḗm), from Biblical Hebrew יְרוּשָׁלַיִם (Yərūšālayim). Now displaced by pseudo-loaned Herusalem.
