Proper noun[edit]

Isle of Grain

  1. A civil parish (served by St James, Isle of Grain Parish Council) on the eastern part of the Hoo Peninsula in Medway borough, Kent, England.

Usage notes[edit]

Although Wikipedia calls the whole area the Hoo Peninsula, which it is, the Isle of Grain is a distinctive part at the eastern end and is almost cut off from the rest of the peninsula by watercourses; both names appear on Ordnance Survey maps.
