- (historical) A war fought in the Korean Peninsula from 1950–1953 between the Soviet Union-backed Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the United Nations-backed Republic of Korea.
- (pedantic) A situation of formal war that is de jure in progress since the 1950s on the Korean Peninsula, that has not had a formal resolution and peace treaty, but only has a longstanding armistice in place.
