Etymology[edit]

First attested as Kortonjo in 1907. Compound of Cor (a personal name), Ton (a personal name) and Jo (a personal name). Named after a villa built by notary Joseph Fens (1846-1917); the name of the house is composed of the shortened forms of his name and that of his wife Cornelia and son Anton.
