Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish قبه صخره (Kubbe-i Sahre), from Persian قبه صخره (qobbe-ye saxre), a calque of Arabic قُبَّة الصَّخْرَة (qubbat aṣ-ṣaḵra).
