French Latin, with a peculiar rendition of the French nasal vowel /ɛ̃/. Compare Phi-li-tinh (Philistine) and Cô-rinh-tô (Corinth). Compare Mandarin 拉丁 (Lādīng, Lạp Đinh), Hakka 拉丁 (Lâ-tên).
