Etymology[edit]

From Edwin Lutyens, a British architect who designed the city of New Delhi, which was also known as "Lutyens' Delhi".

Because it contained the Parliament building, it was also known as "Lutyens' zone", and the name "Lutyens" became associated with liberal and leftist politicians who oppose Hindutva.

Noun[edit]

Lutyens' media pl (plural only)

  1. (India, derogatory, slang, Hindutva) Leftist-aligned mass media that opposes Hindu nationalism and Narendra Modi. (Can we add an example for this sense?)
