Etymology[edit]
From Mọ́remí + Àjàṣorò, ultimately from Blend of ọmọ (“child”) + rè (“to give attention to”) + èmi (“me”), literally “The child attracts my attention” and Blend of à- (“nominalizing prefix”) + jà (“to fight”) + ṣe (“to make”) + Orò (“Oro deity”), literally “One who fights while making sacrifices to Orò”.
