German[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Central Franconian Mucken (brown earth) + fuck (foul, decayed).

A popular etymology derives the term from the French phrase moka faux (false mocha) but there is little to no evidence to support this explanation.

Pronunciation[edit]

  • IPA(key): /ˈmʊkəfʊk/
  • Audio:(file)
  • Hyphenation: Mu‧cke‧fuck; pre-1996: Muk‧ke‧fuck

Noun[edit]

Muckefuck m (strong, genitive Muckefucks, no plural)

  1. coffee substitute, ersatz coffee
  2. thin coffee

Declension[edit]
