  1. A large freshwater lake on the border between Estonia and Russia in Northern Europe. It is the fifth-largest lake in Europe, and the largest in Estonia. The lake consists of three parts: Peipsi (Chudskoe), Pihkva (Pskovskoe), Lämmijärv (Teploe).
