Proto-Afroasiatic *-c- (and not *s) is reconstructed in the basis of the related *dac-, where it's attested in West Chadic and Central Chadic.

  • Proto-Chadic: *das- (knife) (see there for further descendants) (only attested in Eastern Chadic)
