Proto-Finnic[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Probably *jäädäk +‎ *-ttädäk. It is not known why the word has a short *-ä- as opposed to a long *-ää- (**jäättädäk) (compare *joodak*joottadak, *söödäk*sööttädäk, *saadak*saattadak); one possibility is that the word is an older derivative than those listed.

Verb[edit]

*jättädäk (stem *jättä-)

  1. to leave (something somewhere)

Inflection[edit]
